What is a car seat check?
Child car seat checks teach parents and caregivers how to correctly use their child's car seat or seat belt. Nearly 90 percent of child car seats are used incorrectly, so your child's car seats will be checked to be sure:
- It has not been recalled
- It meets federal safety standards.
- It is installed correctly.
- It is appropriate for the child's age, weight and height.
- The child is properly secured in the seat.
To schedule an individual appointment for a car seat check, call (701) 837-5107. The fee for a car seat check is $5.00.
First District regularly offers car seat check events, where no appointment is needed. Scheduled events appear at the bottom of this page. If no events are scheduled at this time, please call to schedule an individual appointment.
