Environmental Health Practitioner
Full-time position with a seven-county Public Health District in Central ND. Responsible for enforcement of health and sanitation regulations regarding food, lodging, recreational water, body art, tanning, solid & hazardous waste, septic systems, vector control, air quality, water quality, and other areas of environmental concern.
Primary responsibility will be inspection and regulation of licensed facilities. Position may include emergency response training and some coordination with the Emergency Preparedness Coordinator as well as cross-training in other areas.
The successful candidate must have a minimum of a bachelor’s degree from an accredited Environmental Health Curriculum or in Biological, Chemical, or Physical Sciences. Preference will be given to candidates with an emphasis in microbiology and/or prior experience in regulatory inspections. Enhanced computer knowledge and strong oral and written communication skills favored.
Must have a current ND Environmental Health Practitioner license or ability to obtain license within 6 months of employment.
Must have a current driver’s license and possess own vehicle. Considerable local travel may be required.
Beginning Salary 20.66/hr with exceptional benefit package.
