First District Health Unit provides support services to medical providers to address tobacco use in their patients.
Tobacco Use In-service First District Health Unit tobacco cessation staff will present a 20-minute overview of the most current tobacco interventions. The in-service is presented on site at the providers location anywhere in the seven county service area, and is free of charge. ND Tobacco Quitline Fax Referral Form This is a printable form for patients to sign requesting tobacco cessation services. Once the complete form has been faxed, a counselor from the North Dakota Tobacco Quitline will contact the patient for follow-up. Results are reported to the initiating medical provider.
AAFP Audio Training The American Academy of Family Physicians offers free audio trainings to help medical providers address tobacco use in patients.
