Flu vaccination is your best protection against seasonal flu!
At First District Health Unit, we have a number of opportunities for you to get your flu shot this year.
At a walk-in flu clinic: No appointment is needed to get your flu shot at one of First District's Community Flu Shot Clinics. To save time, print and complete the Flu/COVID Registration and Consent form and bring it with you to the clinic.
At school: Students and staff can be conveniently vaccinated right at school. Just fill out the School Flu Consent form and return it to the school. These forms are also sent home with the students. The date of vaccinations at your school can be found on the list of 2021 School Flu Clinics.
First District offers the quadravalent flu shot. The high-dose vaccine is available for those 65 and older. No payment is required at the time of service if you present your Medicare, Medicaid, Blue Cross BlueShield, Sanford, Tricare, Medica, Meritain or Preferred One card. With any other insurance, payment must be made at the time of service. If you do not have insurance, your income may qualify you for vaccination at a reduced rate.
First District recommends that every person over six months of age be vaccinated for influenza. More information can be found on the Vaccine Information Statement.
