The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommends that every person over six months of age be vaccinated for influenza. To make it easier to vaccinate your school-age child, First District Health Unit will once again offer flu vaccination for students at most area schools.
A schedule of the school flu clinics is listed on the School Flu Vaccination Consent Form. The consent form can be printed, and the first two pages returned to the school. The Vaccine Information Statement (VIS) can be found on Page 2 of the form. Parents are encouraged to review the VIS before vaccination.
Every student to be immunized must turn in a completed and signed consent form to the school by September 15, 2017.
Adults to be vaccinated at a school vaccination clinic should use the Adult Flu Vaccination form.
Nasal FluMist is not currently recommended. Only injectable flu vaccine will be given.
