With two dangerous and deadly viruses circulating this fall, it will be more important than ever to get your flu shot this year. Flu vaccination is especially important for people who are at high risk from flu; many of whom are also at high risk for COVID-19. We want to encourage everyone 6 months and older to get vaccinated at their clinic, pharmacy or with us.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommends that everyone over the age of six months be vaccinated for influenza, including all adults. Adults age 65 and older will receive high-dose influenza vaccine this year at all First District Health Unit clinics. High-dose influenza vaccine induces a higher antibody response in this age group, increasing their level of protection against the flu virus. All vaccine offered by First District is quadravalent, including the high-dose vaccine.
For your modesty and convenience, we recommend you wear a short-sleeved shirt to the clinic.
